"‘No Captain’ started with us just throwing paint at a canvas and putting in very random sounds from a collection of voice notes and synths. My favourite voice note we used was a Tibetan singing bowl, which is the airy synth sound used in verse 2. We generally just had a lot of fun making this.
The lyrics for this song came around from mumbling melodies and sounds until we got something that felt right. After sitting with it for a while now I think it’s about letting someone into your life and just acknowledging how much they enrich and do for you, having someone to help steer the ship I guess. But yeh, we had a blast making this and I hope you love it!"
