From Canada comes the fantastic indie singer/songwriter Maria Joxx with one of the best songs I've heard in a while, say hello to "My Mind". With this stunning blend of melodies and lyrics she explores the harsh reality of anxiety in a way so personal, so honest and uniquely inviting. While the verses are very real and raw, they also hold a sense of peace and inspiration within them that makes the song quite wonderful to hear.
"My Mind" does not cut corners and does not play with fantasies but instead allows us to meet the person behind the artist and in that same place, we get to meet ourselves. The soundscape offers us a world that while dark, understands that there is a light out there, ready for us to take it and have hope in what the world holds.
