“Messy is a song I wrote during a time where I would eat my takeout from last night for breakfast the next day, forget to water my plants, sleep all day and party all night. It took me a while to realize that the unplanned parts of life are the best parts, and that I actually ‘like it messy like that’.
It all started when I struggled with bad anxiety (and mental health weghalen) for a while. I was constantly trying to control every part of my life. But when things went differently than I had planned, I realized all that planning and worrying didn’t help. With that in mind, I let everything go. I ended up having the most fun I’d ever had in my life.”
