“Melody” by Kids Return

Indie French pop duo Kids Return com to Wolf in a Suit with a fantastic track, say hello to “Melody“. They deliver this track in a unique and fun setting as there’s food being made right behind them in what’s known as Sauce Session from Sauce Blanche. The track flows with ease and caresses our senses with a gentle and warm touch that unites melodies and lyrics in a way that is truly beautiful. Up and coming Canadian indie singer/songwriter QUIETLOVE comes to us with the heartfelt sonic creation that is “Selfies”. With this stunning and intoxicating blend of melodies and lyrics he tells a story a relationship that has now ended and all the ideas passing through his head. The track flows in a natural and honest fashion, connecting each verse and giving us something vivid and playful. There’s something about it that is quite modern yet manages to feel open and inviting to all no matter the age or the gender. The track is a welcomed addition to any playlist and serves as a great way to get to know this talented artist.


“Thoughts from my bed” by YAHYAH

New Zealand has so much to offer the world of music, and YAHYAH with her song “Thoughts from my bed” are perfect examples of this. The track comes to us with verses that speak from the heart as they explore the fragile reality of the human mind. The track is honest and down-to-earth and there’s something about it that is quite freeing for all who listen to it. She let’s us know that while she might a show a strong façade, this does not mean that she is not anxious, sad, angry or nervous within. This struggle is so real and so human as we all at times hide the fragile reality of who we are as if it was something to be ashamed of, but it isn’t…it’s beautiful, imperfect, magical and part of us.


“Midlife Crisis” by Art d’Ecco

Canadian indie singer/songwriter/producer Art d’Ecco comes to us with the catchy sonic creation that is “Midlife crisis”. With this playful and honest blend of melodies and lyrics he offers us a chance to be part of an adventure that explores what it means to grow up. The sonic escape showcased by this soundscape is one that manages to feel modern and also reminiscent of the 80’s, allowing to pull everyone in with ease. The verses flow with ease one after the other, making sure a connection is made as the track unfolds and the story is made clearer and clearer. There’s no denying that this is a must for any playlist and a perfect escape from reality that manages to stay connected to it in its own unique way.

“Need Me” by Lorelei Marcell

The absolutely fantastic and talented Lorelei Marcell comes to us with the bittersweet and honest sonic creation that is “Need Me”. With this refreshing blend of melodies and lyrics she explores the aftermath of the end of a toxic relationship, one where you haven’t been able to fully let go. The track is by far one of the most realistic in this regard, because almost everyone else implies that there’s a sudden growth once the two take separate ways, but that is rarely true. She showcases the cold hard reality, and how at times you keep on falling in that same vicious cycle even after things are “over”. There’s also a lesson learn within this track as she finally sees that maybe she doesn’t the other part and that her happiness and bliss can be found somewhere else whether it is with another person or on her own.


“November” by Love Ghost

One of the most exciting indie rock bands out there graces our lands once more, say hello to Love Ghost with “November”. With this emotional and honest blend of melodies and lyrics, they explore the harsh reality of how some of our relationships can/have/will be. They embrace the cold hard truth that not everything is reciprocate and sometimes we gravitate towards somebody that does not share the same feelings we have. The soundscape embraces this reality with the vocal and instrumental approach, making sure we connect the dots as our senses are caressed by the raw storytelling of this experience. Listen closely and I am sure you’ll find a bit of you or someone you known within this tale.


“Happier Now” by Elizabeth

The fantastic and absolutely talented Australian indie singer/songwriter Elizabeth comes to us with “Happier Now”. With this honest and relatable showcase of feelings and emotions she explores the aftermath of a relationship that is now over and how at times the heart misses but still knows that things are better now. The track plays with us in a unique way for it speaks of moments and thoughts that while personal still manage to hit a spot for all of us. Her storytelling is pure, honest and quite frankly, poetic and easy to connect the dots as it all comes together verse after verse. She is a breath of fresh air and this soundscape is exactly what the pop genre needed to be more human and raw.

With this amazing collaboration they give folk a contemporary touch and mixed it up with electronica, giving life to an enticing folktronica soundscape. The track blends melodies and lyrics perfectly, making sure our senses connect with the tale that’s taking shape and form within this world. There’s something about the experience that is so raw, so honest and so real that you can’t help but see the humanity in its verses. So listen closely and let your imagination run wild as this must-listen gem pulls you in.

“Close to U” by Nick De La Hoyde

The-uber-talented indie singer/songwriter Nick De La Hoyde comes from Australia to grace the lands of the Wolf in a Suit with “Close to U”. With this refreshing and beautifully crafted blend of melodies and lyrics, he speaks of the journey and how fantastic and intoxicating it can be. He speaks of trying to reach that goal and how we all long for something, a dream or a goal that is just ours and so important. The soundscape comes alive from start to end and becomes a modern-day anthem that we can all feel a connection with. He has given us something special and so inspiring that we can’t help but want and need more and more of it.


“Louisa” by FERNE

From the UK comes the uber-talented FERNE with the fantastic sonic creation that is “Louisa”. With this refreshing and captivating blend of melodies and lyrics, she offers all music lovers a taste of pop with a nice touch of rock. The track unfolds in a natural fashion and pulls us in gently to explore this world that dwells within it as we become spectators of this story. Her voice is absolutely fantastic and offers her a chance to really play with various genres as she let’s her verses come together from the very start. There’s no denying that FERNE has everything to not only be a part of the music industry but to be a highlight in it.

Up and coming indie pop band Shady Cove come to us with the hypnotizing tale of “High Divide”. With this refreshing touch of youthful dream and adult goals, they tell a story that connects these two moments in our lives with such sweet magic and warmth. The track unfolds with ease and caresses our senses with a gentle and honest touch that serves to remind us that dreams are always there, no matter the age. The way in which everything comes together, mixing melodies and lyrics into one, and unfolding right in front us to see and connect is quite beautiful. There’s no denying that this track has something special about it that feels quite freeing from start to end.

“Who Knew?” by Moontower

US-based indie pop band Moontower come to us with the perfect track for the unknown of a night outing, say hello to “Who Knew?”. With this stunning and beautifully crafted showcase of feelings and emotions, they tell a story of falling for someone while in the line to enter a nightclub in Paris. There’s something quite intoxicating about this idea and the verses managed to perfectly allow us to visualize this moment by using the French and English language. This is without a shadow of a doubt one of my favorites from The Soundtrack Part IX and it’s one that actually is already part of my daily drives. So listen closely and let your imagination run wild as you become one with this refreshing and youthful tale.


“Fire” by City of Pines

US-based indie singer/songwriter Nick Clark aka City of Pines comes to Wolf in a Suit with the haunting sonic realm of “Fire”. With this exquisite blend of melodies and lyrics he offers us all a chance to fall prey to a soundscape that embraces pop and folk in a personal and touching way. The track flows with ease and makes itself an instant standout within The Soundtrack Part IX playlist. There’s something about it that feels like silk gracing our senses but still packs enough passion to keep us hooked from start to end. So dive into this unknown reality and become one with this must-listen gem.


“Accidentally in Love” by TANDM

Toronto-based indie pop duo TANDM deliver their personal take on a modern day classic, say hello to their cover of “Accidentally in Love”. The young artists give the track a welcomed touch of modern instrumental arrangements while staying true to the warmth and the magic of the lyrics. They made the song their own but still let slip a bit of nostalgia for those who heard it in the original version, making it easy for everyone to enjoy it. This is by far one of the best covers I’ve heard in a while and I truly appreciate that they did something different yet true to the original. There’s something about the track that invites us to look within and analyze our own ups and downs as we wonder what it means to be alive. With this stunning blend of melodies and lyrics they give life to a world bound to pull us is and offer us a welcomed escape from reality. The track flows with ease and manages to blend pop, rock, punk, grunge and a bit of the unknown to give life to something quite special and intoxicating. The vocals and instruments join forces to offer each music lover a chance to explore a soundscape unlike anything else out there. The experience is mesmerizing and fantastic, offering us a chance to use our imagination and escape from reality.
