My Personal Favorites from the ‘Soft Apocalypse’ album:

- Obviously…the title track, Soft Apocalypse
I am sorry if you were expecting an in depth analysis of these songs, but I feel they need you to listen to them and see if they are the stories you need to listen to or if maybe, you need a dose of something else, something exciting and magical that is surely found within the confines of this amazing album. But just for for the sake of explaining something…also give “Million Miles Away” a listen, something about it clicked quite naturally for me and brought a sense of peace and understanding that I think, I had been looking for in the songs I have listened to lately.
‘Soft Apocalypse’ by Filip Clements
Have you heard a voice that just has it all from the moment you first listen to it? Have you felt that it could do pop, rock, folk or anything it wanted? Well if you haven’t, let me introduce you to Filip Clements, who comes to us with an extraordinary body of work in his album ‘Soft Apocalypse’. With this album he gives us a chance to explore a wide array of soundscapes that feel and sound so real yet so surreal, but always human and honest. It’s one of those special musical ensembles that tells you not only listen to it in the digital mediums, but something about it just makes you feel a need to have it in your hands as if it was a treasure you had been looking for.
Typically I dive into specifics, but personally, I want to change that for this review, because in all fairness, all the songs are fantastic. I can tell you my favorites, but there’s a section all for that in this review. Instead, I want you to listen to each and every song and find your own favorites, the worlds that you want to explore and over and over again, and if this is the whole album, well don’t worry, it’s practically the same situation for me.
Give Filip Clements a chance to sing to you, to tell you stories that are sure to speak to your senses and your imagination as they become as much yours as they are his. So as I always say…listen and fall prey to the sweet unknown that awaits you within this amazing collection of must-listen gems that he has called ‘Soft Apocalypse’.
