“…Freedom is an anthem for anyone that’s ever been through hell and back. Personally… it’s about my journey learning to love myself again after I was sexually assaulted and ridding myself of toxic people from my life. The message is loud and clear… I found strength, I’m enough and so are you..”

-Laces-

You might have known her as Jessie Poland- VH1 “You Oughta Know” artist, one of Alternative Press’ “100 Bands You Need to Know,” and she even competed on the hit NBC TV show, The Voice. But you will now know her as the whiskey drinking, dark-pop-music making singer-songstress brand LACES.

Today’s the release of a new track that I am really excited for anyone and everyone to listen to; today’s the release date of “Freedom” by Laces.

There is something so powerful and anthemic about “Freedom” that you can’t just help it and just say “You go girl! Show them who’s the boss!” It’s a song with a positive and true message, a message that can be taken to heart by anyone to know that they are strong no matter the circumstances in life. Your strength lies within you, within your spirit that should always be free. It’s a song that tells you to take your scars and to not be sad or ashamed but to take them to make you stronger and to stand taller than you ever did before. So crank up the volume and sing along to Laces and “Freedom” because the song is for her, it’s for you and for anyone that will listen.

Please don’t ever let some idiot that does not value or respect you take away your freedom and your essence, always remember the first person you must love is yourself and the person that is right for you will understand that. Also never keep your voice down or your pain to yourself – someone will listen, someone will care. Your life as well as Laces life is worth so much, don’t let anyone or anything tell you otherwise. And always remember you are a lot stronger than you might think, just like Laces came out stronger than before and with a fantastic song to show that you too can create a positive from a negative.
