"'Ur Girlfriend’s a Lawyer' is a song about this guy who had a girlfriend, but he was overstepping the line of boundaries. I wrote this song a while after the situation happened, and I think as time went on, I just thought more about the situation and the girlfriend involved… and you kind of realise how much of an idiot he was. I wanted the song to be full of energy and unforgiving.
It’s like I envision them listening to this song. And if she knows everything, then they’re in her apartment, laughing over how silly it all is, thinking it’s silly I ever wrote a song about it. But if she doesn’t know, I guess it’s my way of being like, hey… you should tell her.”
