Heaven Underground

Editor's Notes Powerful and insightful soundscape that invites us to think not only about ourselves but about the world as a whole.

From Sweden come the fantastic and talented Agnes Hustler and Leyonclou with the powerful sonic creation that is "Heaven Underground". With this stunning blend of melodies and lyrics they talk about a subject that deserves more attention in music, the climate and the emergency it holds. They embrace the fire that burns inside all us in a way that allows them to put the message across clearly and with such passion.

Both voices complement each other so perfectly, allowing the verses to come together and pull us in to open our eyes and invite us to see what dwells inside "Heaven Underground". The soundscape understands the need for our attention and it we can find clear examples of what's wrong not just with the climate but with us as a society.

"Heaven Underground" is exactly what the music landscape needs for it's raw, honest and in-your-face from start to end. So listen closely, pay attention and fall prey to the mesmerizing inspiration found in this must-listen gem. Enjoy!

"The song ('Heaven Underground') was originally written together with artist Sky Li, but I then invited the amazing Leyonclou to sing and co-write with me on the track. Alva (Lejonclou) really gave the song an extra edge with fun lyrics and melody ideas such as bringing Greta Thunbergs ‘‘how dare you’ into the chorus.

I’ve known for a long time that I have to write a song about the climate emergency. We all have a responsibility to do everything in our power to lower our CO2-emissions and do all we can to stop global warming. Especially as artists and influencers that people and especially kids look up to.

I want people to face the truth and stop living in a fake facade of ‘reality’. Think of each other. The people and animals who are dying or suffering because of global warming are the ones who’ve done the least to cause it. You have the chance to slow down the already irreversible changes to the planet and life as we know it. If the whole world goes plant-based within 15 years, global carbon dioxide emissions would drop by 68%. Act now.

I know that the climate is a topic connected with anxiety and fear for many people, and to turn those fears into action we need extra force - music is that power."
