UK-based indie singer/songwriter Eden Rain takes a step away from the fantasies that are times are part of pop to give us a chance to explore something quite real and honest in "Closer". With this track we get a special opportunity to hear someone speak of trying to help someone grieving, she understands it's not as easy as said and done, and accepts that she can't know what's going on inside this other person, yet she remains there, waiting to be all that other person needs.
"Closer" is a beautifully poetic and human showcase of feelings and emotions that spoke to me in a way that made it feel mine from the moment I pressed play. It reminded me of the person most important to me... my partner, my wife, my all...she was there for me, not knowing what was going on inside my heart, but always pulling me close to her, so that I could feel warm and connected with this world that at times packs a punch.
