‘Honey’ by Peach Luffe

Rating: 5 out of 5.

South Korea-born and Toronto-based artist Peach Luffe comes to Wolf in a Suit with the wonderfully crafted ‘Honey’ EP. With this beautiful showcase of feelings and emotions he gives life to tales so warm, so endearing and so truly captivating. It’s a collection of tracks that speaks to your heart and soul with excitement, joy and a welcomed-dosed of the surreal yet palpable magic that is found in love.

The ‘Honey’ EP is a body of work that speaks to one special person, yet manages to bring us all in as we connect and find bits of ourselves in each track. The songs understand not only the wonderful and happy side of love, but they also explore the sad and at times hard moments that are part of this marvelous experience. We get to see the start, the honey moon phase, the moments before sleep in which you know you need talk to sleep right, the fights and reconciliations, and those subtly mundane yet important parts of love that so majestic and relatable.

Each track is a hit in my book, but as with any EP or LP, there were 2 that spoke to me a bit louder within the worlds found in the ‘Honey’ EP.

One being “Smile”, a tale that explores how much magic and light can one person bring to your days, no matter how gray or how hard they seem to be, they are that unknown gift from the divine that brings joy to you no matter what.

And the other is, “Say It Back”, an honest tale that explores those nights in which you know things are not right and you need to talk it out because no one should go to sleep with an angry heart and no “I Love You” before you close your eyes.

Can you feel each verse caress you, like silk, flowing so naturally and so softly, making you feel at ease as a smile starts to take shape? I bet you do, so how about we stop reading (writing in my case) and…we just enjoy the ride that awaits within this stunning body of work made of must-listen gems. Enjoy!
