My Personal Favorites of ‘Breaking Patterns’:

  • “Trouble”: A refreshingly intoxicating and bittersweet blend of melodies and lyrics that feels anthemic from the moment you press play, pulling you in and never letting go.
  • ‘One Last Dance”: A beautifully crafted modern pop ballad that embraces the sad truth that at times is part of falling in love. Sometimes it’s just not meant to be, but a last dance could be enough to say goodbye.
  • “Drinking Up”: A fantastic collaboration between Marshall Zuniga and Victoria Romero that grabs a hold of you and feeds with your senses with a sweet dose of the magical unknown that is always searched for in music.

‘Breaking Patterns” by Marshall Zuniga

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

Texas-based Salvadoran indie singer/songwriter Marshall Zuniga comes to Wolf in a Suit for the first time with the mesmerizing realms that are part of ‘Breaking Patterns’. With this body of works he makes a splash as it is his first official album and it’s one that is sure to get music lovers excited. It offers our senses a wide array of tales that explore the human condition and the ups and downs that are part of it with a refreshingly rebellious charm.

There’s no denying it, there’s no escaping it, this album is it, it’s what you have been searching for, that welcomed dose of pop mixed with something else, something unknown and so enticing. It gives us catchy and honest lyrics that invite us to sing along, melodies and sounds that embrace our senses from start to end pulling us to dance, and a truly welcomed mix of languages that at times come up. ‘Breaking Patterns’ is a must for any music lover and it deserves to not only be kept in a digital medium but the physical route would work just fine as well and personally, I would welcomed it with open arms.

Listen closely to each track, close your eyes and let your imagination guide you as the cities and stories that are part of each song come alive. Can you feel it? The happiness, the sadness, the anger, and everything else that resides within these mesmerizing verses. Isn’t it exciting, isn’t it inviting, it’s the magic that music can offer and this album manages to give it so naturally and beautifully. ‘Breaking Patterns’ is a hit and personally, I ask that you share it with others searching for something new from the music scene. Enjoy!
