‘Acoustic Tales’ by Pieternel

Rating: 5 out of 5.

From the Netherlands comes the absolutely amazing indie singer/songwriter Pieternel with the wonderful EP that is ‘Acoustic Tales‘. With this short collection of tracks, we are given a chance to enjoy an acoustic take of 5 selected songs from her previously released album, ‘Underneath this Skin’. These are hand picked tales that translated perfectly from the full band set up into the acoustic field, arriving with all the right ingredients to get us hooked from the moment we pressed play.

Each song has a certain je ne sais quois that allows them to speak to our hearts and souls in a way that makes them feel as much ours as they are hers. We are invited to traverse through stories that are raw, honest and wonderfully human from start to end, becoming part of us with such wonderful ease. It’s a refreshing experience to have within music, for it not only invites us to sing along but to explore them as we look within ourselves and find all that feels a click with each of her verses.

‘Acoustic Tales’ is an EP made to be heard, made to be experienced and made to be felt whether alone or with others, it really does not make a difference, but I highly recommend sharing it with others. Because it paints picture that are human and relatable no matter the age, the gender or anything else that we believe differentiates us. So listen closely and let go of what think you know, to simply be one with the down-to-earth magic and beautiful showcase of human vulnerability that makes ‘Acoustic Tales’ a must for any music lover. Enjoy!
