‘Junior’ by Izzy Pingrey

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Up-and-coming US-based indie singer/songwriter Izzy Pingrey comes to Wolf in a Suit with the ‘Junior’ EP. With this fantastic body of work she gives life to 4 songs that explore the ups and downs of youth in a way that is sure to connect with more than a few listeners. She opens up her heart and soul and manages to tell stories that reflect quite wonderfully on the fragile truth of our human condition.

Of course, there’s a topic that seems to be explored more than others, but to be fair, it is one that most of us can have an opinion on. She guides us through her experiences in love and heartbreak in a way that is not only mature but easy to follow and feel as much ours as it is hers. So listen closely and embrace the vulnerable beauty of the melodies and lyrics that make each song an experience to connect with.

The ‘Junior’ EP is a great freshman collection of music that allows music lovers to not only get to know her as an artist but to get a feel for her storytelling capacity. It gets 4 out of 5 starts because there’s bound to be more from this young artist, and I want to hear how her music transforms, matures and evolves, giving us more tales to explore in the future. For now, let’s enjoy this amazing EP and be in the lookout for more music from this uber-talented artist.
