“Poison or Patience” by Friday Pilots Club ft. OSTON

Afternoon Vibes is something new and what better to get it started than with this fantastic collaboration. The talented indie band Friday Pilots Club joins forces with OSTON and together they give life to “Poison or Patience”. With this stunning and uniquely relatable blend of melodies and lyrics, they give us a chance to listen to something so raw, so real and so easy to connect with. The verses flows with ease, caressing our senses and making us feel so alive and so in-tune with the fragile nature of our human condition in a way that is quite intoxicating. The choice at the end of the road is one that we actually do come up in our ups and downs in live, making this a fantastic soundscape to explore.

“A song dealing with rehashing, ruminating, and spiraling over all your mistakes and regrets, Poison or Patience is self loathing at its finest. Through distorted vocals and self-depreciating lyrics, the song chronicles a toxic journey of self empowerment and going down all the wrong paths, and looking to either Poison or Patience to fix you.”

“‘Stay in LA’ is about when sh**ty people try to crawl back into your life. I wrote the track after I had gotten a text message from someone I had moved on from. This person had made the goal of living in LA their whole personality, so I just assumed they had moved there. I wished they would’ve stayed there instead of trying to reinsert themselves into my life.”

“In the year before I started writing this album, I really didn’t think I’d ever write another album again. I was done. I’d irreparably broken my wrist on stage. Then this song came shimmying down the drainpipe, and it really seemed to be willing me to carry on. It is, embarrassingly enough, a song about writing songs, written at what I admit was a pretty low ebb for me emotionally. Both my parents are writers, and though I am grateful to it for the life it continues to afford me, it is a complex genetic inheritance.”
