German indie band Seven Purple Tigers come to Wolf in a Suit with what can only be described as one of the best songs of the year, say hello to “Smoke Communique”. With an stunning blend of melodies and lyrics, the fantastic ensemble manages to give life to a musical masterpiece capable of pulling us in and making us part of it from the very start. The vocals, the instruments and the verses offer some of the best quality work I have heard in the indie music scene and shows signs that this is not the tip of the iceberg for them. The track is a joy to hear for it is unique yet familiar, honest yet mysterious and works so beautifully with our senses and imagination.
There’s no denying the mastery found within this song for it doesn’t ask to be part of your playlist, it does it on its own and you are happy it does. This is truly a welcomed breath of fresh air that gives pop and rock a special touch to get us hooked.
