Canadian indie singer/songwriter Alexander Stewart comes to Wolf in a Suit with the powerful and honest tale of "if you only knew". This was a song that was both inviting and hard to listen for me, for the verses had moments that felt so personal, not only for the singer...but for me as well. It spoke words that clicked with such ease with what at times lies within the center of my heart, my mind and my soul. It's a soundscape that understands how truly fragile and beautiful we are, inviting others to learn about the trials and tribulations that come along with mental health.
There's something about "if you only knew" that just understood how to make a home out of me, and I a sure it will do the same for quite a few listeners. And not only does it speak to those like him and me, but invites others to learn and understands that sometimes a smile hides a sadness that is hard to define. This is a wonderful soundscape that needs to be heard by everyone, for I know it will bring a certain peace with the sadness that lies within it. So listen closely and fall prey to the raw and down-to-earth storytelling that makes it a must-listen gem. Enjoy!
