‘Porch Lights’ by Clover County
US-based indie singer/songwriter Clover County comes to Wolf in a Suit for the first time and what a way to arrive, she comes to us with the ‘Porch Lights’ EP. With this body of work not only does she get my full attention but tells the whole world that they need to be looking her way because she is crafting some really special music. This EP is stunning and really manages to grab a hold of not only your senses, but your heart and soul, letting your imagination know that these stories were meant to not only be heard, but truly explored.
There’s something about the way in which the ‘Porch Lights’ EP connects each track to one another that is subtle, warm and wonderfully intoxicating and human. The songs unfold in such natural fashion, that they just flow one after the other like silk, with such ease, that you feel them yours instantly. But you know what really makes sure everything clicks, it’s that voice, that angelic and raw voice that understands the needs of each of the words that are housed in these songs. It’s a voice that demands attention in a way that just feels sincere, keeping you hooked as the EP comes together and makes a fan out of you.
There are some personal favorites for sure, mine are “Uncharted” and “Ultraviolet”, but once more I invite you to let her voice guide you to the songs that are meant to be your personal favorites. Enjoy each story and find bits and pieces of yourself within the confines of each soundscape found within the ‘Porch Lights’ EP. Enjoy!
