‘A Chosen Family’ EP by Smith & Thell
From Sweden come the always amazing indie band/duo Smith & Thell and they do so with the brilliant body of work that is the “A Chosen Family” EP. With an always exciting and inviting approach to songwriting, they give life to tales that are sure to speak to most, if not all listeners. The EP ends up becoming an instant must for any human being who loves music, it has all and more that you could ask for.
The songs flow with ease, standing on their own as they speak to our hearts and souls with words that will surely resonate as they explore the various phases of life. The ‘A Chosen Family’ EP finds it’s home in pop and folk, but manages to offer a bit of everything else along the way. Not only that, but something about it manages to dance perfectly between the classic and contemporary, always pulling you in as it does not question your age, gender, or anything to be fair.
This is another tough body of work to search in, because to be honest there was not a song that did not make feel at home. All of them spoke to me in one way or another, and they gave me a sort of peace that lately I’ve been craving. So, I won’t pick favorites, instead come with me and let us explore these worlds they have crafted and maybe you can find your own favorites along the way.
