‘Something To Lose’ EP by Lyla DiPaul

Rating: 4 out of 5.

US-based up-and-coming indie singer/songwriter Lyla DiPaul comes to us for the first time with the ‘Something to Lose’ EP. With 4 tracks she gives this EP shape and form, making it a fantastic body of work worthy of enjoyment and listening. It’s a set of songs that speak to our hearts and souls with gentle and honest storytelling letting us feel part of each tale she has crafted.

The ‘Something to Lose’ EP is a mature work that understood the virtue of patience, collaboration and focus. It gives us songs that are made in the highest quality both production wise and lyrically speaking, and makes us forget that Lyla is an independent artist. Each song is subtly vivid and inviting, allowing each listener to be able to find bits and pieces of themselves dwelling within the realities that make them up.

Due to there being 4 songs, I will not pick favorites to focus on but instead invite you to close your eyes, listen to each track and let your imagination guide you to the ports that feels more like home for your heart and soul. The ‘Something to Lose’ EP is a fine showcase of the human experience and offers us all a place to feel connected to, for while personal, her songs are human and raw.

So, listen closely and fall prey to the sweet magic and gentle caress that is part of this majestic experience. Enjoy the adventure that awaits within the worlds of the ‘Something to Lose’ EP.
