‘Dear Reader’ by PEGGY

Rating: 4.5 out of 5.

US-based indie singer/songwriter PEGGY comes to Wolf in a Suit with a refreshingly hypnotizing body of work, say hello to the ‘Dear Reader’ EP. With this amazing body of work, she opens up her heart and soul to share with us tales so beautiful, so human and so wonderfully cinematic. All these tracks comes together to make sure that all music lovers get a dose of what one-of-a-kind is meant to be like, making the ‘Dear Reader’ EP a great addition to any digital collection.

With these EP she not gives us a chance to explore many worlds, but if you pay attention carefully, you’ll realize that they are all connected in such magical fashion. The ‘Dear Reader’ EP is perfection in every way, for it speaks to your heart, your soul and even manages to give your senses a chance to break away a be free as your imagination takes care of the rest.

As always, there are two songs that speak a little louder, but it was quite tough to decide, for all these songs are golden in my book. They embrace us whole and give us a chance to break away and find places that make us feel a connection not only with ourselves but with the world as a whole. The ‘Dear Reader’ EP deserves to be heard and for you to decide which songs are your favorites, for me, they were: “Feminine Rage” and “30 Second Love Story”.

The first is powerful, raw, in-your-face and of course, honest and quite palpable. It’s a lesson for all who share my gender to pay attention and really listen to, because it can help us understand and do better. Plus, it comes in the shape and form of an absolute hit in my opinion. Not only that, but I believe it can be quite anthemic it wants to.

The other track is beautifully captivating and understanding of the power of our imagination and how short moments can give birth to endless possibilities that reside inside our heads. It’s a wonderful reminder that the ‘Dear Reader’ EP is not only for PEGGY to share the magic that dwells inside her, but for us to embrace the one that is always waiting inside us.

So come with me and let us dive into the worlds that PEGGY has crafted with such care, such passion and such wonderful humanity and inviting charm. Embrace the magic of the ‘Dear Reader’ EP and enjoy the adventure that awaits you inside it.

“When I was facing a traumatic experience as a kid, I would revert into myself and create these intricate worlds and characters. It was awesome, but it wasn’t at the same time. It was dark because I would lose hours and hours of my life staring at a wall. It was so much more comfortable within my own head than it was in actual reality. ‘ALICE’ talks about my experience with disassociation. I want to connect with people, and I want to go outside, and I want to do things, but it’s so much more comfortable for me and it’s hard for me to break the habit of just daydreaming.”
