‘a moment in the sun’ by Amistat
From Germany come two amazing artists who together are known as Amistat, and they arrive with the ‘a moment in the sun’ EP. With this marvelous showcase of their vocals, their subtle and inviting instrumental arrangements and the most amazing and relatable verses they invite us in to explore all that awaits within. It’s a body of work made so carefully and with such love that you can’t help but smile as the songs flows through the airwaves, one after the other.
There’s something special in the ‘a moment in the sun’ EP, and it’s not only the fact that Amistat is made up of twin brothers Josef and Jan Prasil, but the songs, each feel so unique, so pure and so wonderfully human from start to end. They embrace the reality of life in a way that is inviting, warm and wonderfully understanding of the beauty it holds, and how love and all that we get to experience make it quite exciting.
All of the songs in the ‘a moment in the sun’ EP are quite mesmerizing and inviting from the moment they begin, but two stood out a bit more for me, they are “seasons” and “same old eyes”. They spoke to me a little louder than the rest because the lyrics felt as if they were speaking to me directly, and that is something quite amazing to find. They embrace the fatality of life in a way that does not make you sad, but strangely happy as if everything you experienced made that brief moment in the lifetime of the universe be worth more than anything else.
While two are my favorites of the ‘a moment in the sun’ EP, please dive into each and every song that makes it up to find the ones that speak the loudest to you. Listen closely, let your imagination guide you, and embrace the passion and dedication that these amazing musicians put into creating the ‘a moment in the sun’ EP. Enjoy!
