“We’d just come off of a ton of touring, a minor viral moment online and it felt like had some momentum professionally. And there I was getting all kinds of unsolicited advice. I kept hearing all these opinions of what other people thought I should be creating and doing and got caught up in it.
Meanwhile, I’m spending 8 hours in the studio getting nothing done. This is a song directed at those opinions, thoughts and the ensuing expectations once that’s all spoken out loud. It came out in about 10 minutes, honestly – and it broke the dam for sure – I started writing every day after that.”
