“I Should Lose You” by Jenny Kern
The fantastic and talented indie singer/songwriter Jenny Kern comes to Wolf in a Suit once more and delivers the sonic creation that is “I Should Lose You”. With this bittersweet yet honest blend of melodies and lyrics she explores that moment in which you know that love is no longer what you feel. Her approach is mature and easy to connect with, for she understand that losing this feeling or hurting the other person is not something we want…it just happened. She wishes the best for the other side and embraces the reality that relationships don’t always end because one side is bad, sometimes they are just temporary and part of the experiences that life has to offer.
There’s something about the soundscape that is so mesmerizing and refreshing to find in music as it’s not happy nor sad, it’s just true and human. So listen closely and explore this reality that she has crafted for inside lies a tale that is sure to connect with you. Enjoy!
“This song is about falling out of love with someone and realizing you need to let them go. The relationship was failing and it became so one-sided. It’s easy to realize that you no longer have feelings for someone but it’s the intrinsic difficulty of hurting them is what makes it so hard. You can be in a relationship, feel a shift and know something isn’t right anymore but the second you say it out loud it’s in the open. You can’t take it back. The truth is, the best solution is to rip off the band aid and move on. That’s what I had to do.”
