“I Lost You is about the cycle of remembering and forgetting our connection to oneness with the universe. Remembering that our personality and personal story are only one level of our existence – everybody is all at once a person, a timeless soul, pure energy – it just depends how we’re looking at it. At times where we get lost in the dramas of everyday life, it helps to remember that it isn’t so serious, and everything is part of something much greater.
I created the song on a day I was feeling a little lost and without love. I was in an airport waiting for a flight, and opened my laptop to a session I had started a while back with guitar and some sparse drums. I layered an idea for the vocal samples and began writing lyrics about that lost feeling of connection, and the song was born.”
