“What Makes a Man” by Billy Raffoul
Canadian indie singer/songwriter Billy Raffoul is back again in the lands of the Wolf in a Suit and this time around he graces us with “What makes a man”. With this refreshing and honest blend of melodies and lyrics, he explores the reality of life and the current times in which the world finds itself fighting for something that should be a given, and that is equality for all no matter the color of the skin, the gender or anything that sadly we humans find to push each other down. He connects with his own privilege and in it finds an invitation for us all to do the same and really understand our fellow human beings as we are all equal yet we don’t seem to treat each other that way. The soundscape allows his voice to really connect with our senses as he gives us an emotion-filled musical experience bound to be a must for any music lover. Enjoy!
“I knew I wanted another song, and with so many important things going on in the world I was finding it hard to write another love song. I thought about how since the quarantine started in March I had been driving my car around with expired plates for three months. I couldn’t get down to Nashville to get new tags, yet still I didn’t think twice about it. I can’t help but feel like that is a confidence that only privilege can give you.” – Billy Raffoul
