“I wrote this song at the end of a relationship with a manipulative addict. I felt like during the relationship, I’d been swallowed up by him and lost so much of myself. For most of my relationships I’ve had this problem: I get so immersed in the relationship that I slip away and can’t be my best self. At the same time, I was dealing with tendinitis in both arms and stopped being able to play music, so that crucial aspect of myself was lost too. Todd Carter of The Looking and I started writing together and this song fell out of me.” – Alice Limoges
