“Don’t hate me” by Corey Harper
Indie singer/songwriter Corey Harper opens up his heart and soul to let us into the aftermath of heartbreak with “Don’t hate me”. With this soundscape, he takes us through feelings and emotions that are relatable and even feel palpable to the touch as we have all gone through relationships and what happens after. We can caress the bittersweet blend of melodies and lyrics and make them as much ours as they are his and the last plea he makes is one that personally I’ve felt. We can accept that things end but they shouldn’t always end in the worst way for there are people that you may never see again but you don’t want to be a dark spot in their heart, you don’t want their love, but you don’t want their hate. It’s beautiful and frankly so real, so honest and above all so human. Enjoy!
