Chris Jobe
Nashville based indie singer/songwriter Chris Jobe pulls us into his world and gets us hooked to his music immediately. With his latest music video for his gem “Backwards”, we feel an instant connection because the track is beautifully human and honest. He lets himself be vulnerable and allows to see the flaws and the mistakes that at times can be found in relationships. He does not aim to cover up the sun with his thumb, but instead, he tells us a story that let’s be honest here, we can connect with. We have been there, at that point where our bodies and our hearts are pulled back into what was once familiar even though we know that it’s not the right decision. The visuals add a special layer to the experience that ties it all together really delivering on the promise of something unique and refreshing within the pop music scene. Enjoy!
[su_quote cite=”Chris Jobe”]While writing the song, I wasn’t sure if I was getting back together with an ex for good reasons, or if I was revisiting a dying flame for the sake of comfortable nostalgia. Between the gruesome car accident, reverse out-of-body beach scenes, and the circular Groundhog Day-esque story line, Hunter Ney (director) and I made the video with hopes to evoke a similar sense of ruminating uncertainty.[/su_quote]
