[su_quote cite=”Hugh, Suzi Island”]Whether it’s us, or our female friends who have been deeply affected by these poisonous people, nobody should be acting like this isn’t a real problem. The problem exists, and we all have to be on the right side of history. That’s the point of this song – there is a movement occurring and we have to do everything we can to support it.[/su_quote]
Suzi Island
UK based indie pop/rock band Suzi Island are paying attention to what’s going on in the world nowadays and they are speaking up about it. Their latest music video for their track “Actor” serves as a passionate support for the #MeToo movement and what it entails. The talented trio reminds us that music is not only there to speak to us but at times it can serve to speak for us and to give us the necessary push to break through and make our voices be heard. The track is a welcomed addition to the current music scene and I am more than excited to show my support not only for such amazing talent but for a movement that needs to keep on going and pushing and making sure everyone is heard. So enter their soundscape and feel inspired either to say something or to stand next to someone in support. Enjoy!
[su_quote cite=”Penny Jo Koviou, Director of ‘Actor’ Music Video”]I was inspired by the song because it was relevant to the issue I’m passionate about – enabling women to be fully immersed within the film industry. I think it’s very important to highlight the need for complete female equality in the workplace and to remove the stereotypical thinking that prevents this from happening.[/su_quote]
