“Summer Clothes” by Marc Scibilia
[su_quote cite=”Marc Scibilia for Rolling Stone ” url=”http://www.rollingstone.com/country/news/see-marc-scibilias-snapchat-friendly-summer-clothes-video-w470535″]I was 18 when I moved from Buffalo to Nashville, my dad would call me once a week and end every conversation with, ‘One more time, what’s your address?’ and he would never send me any mail. The song is a little bit about my hometown, my family, but mostly just someone looking for an excuse to call someone they miss – thanks for always calling, Dad. I missed you too.[/su_quote]
With a vintage feel thanks to the camera work, we are given a mix of images reminiscent of a past and present that is sung about in the verses of “Summer Clothes” and Marc playing his guitar remembering those he misses and the excuses to call again just to hear their voices and feel at home once again. The track is beautiful in the way it connects with an experience that is part of growing up and looking for your place in the world. As Marc, I do not live with my parents and I understand the missing and the looking for small excuses to hear them, even though I don’t do it as much (which I should) I still miss home for there I grew up and there I became me – a passionate blogger/writer/thinker and a man trying to leave a mark in this world that will put a smile on their faces and yours. By the way Marc Scibilia is one of my favorite singer/songwriters and it was a pleasure listening to this track and watching the music video because like always he connects with my feelings and emotions in a strange amazing way, I hope his music does the same for you. Enjoy!
